THE PROBLEM
Media owners need a way to manage bids for their inventories quickly and in bulk.
Currently media owner users could only manage one bid at a time and this requires a lot of time. There was also no proper categorisations for the bids received.
The Challenge: How can I make sure that managing bids is seamless and requires less time or focus for the users?
SOLUTION OVERVIEW
Proper categorisations, viewing options & multi-selection.
Before the design change, all received bids were grouped together in a single table. This arrangement was confusing and time-consuming for media owner users, as it made it difficult to identify which opportunities they had opened for bidding had received bids. Additionally, there was no way to view multiple bids placed by each brand, since everything was consolidated in one table. To address these issues, I developed a solution that sorts the bids into two distinct categories: by opportunity and by brand. This allows users to toggle between views according to their personal preference.
For managing bids in bulk, I developed several solutions that allow users to manage multiple bids simultaneously. I began by laying out a simple user flow to provide a clear overview of the entire process.
When the users have multiple bids, they need to be able to make decisions fast. One of the ways that I did this is by providing a clear price difference percentage for each bid that is being placed, which I visualised through simple wireframes in the initial stage.
After getting approval for the layout, I proceeded to finalise the design by implementing the interfaces. Here's a summary of the solutions incorporated in the design:
1 - Adding view options toggle
Introduced a toggle for switching between different view options, by opportunity or brands.
2 - Allowing Users to multi-select
Added multi-select function to allow bulk management of bids instead of approving/declining one by one.
3 - Price Difference for Easy Scanning
Included price differences (from the guide price) for a faster bids scanning.
4 - Expand/Collapsable Table
Added expand/collapse button on each bid table that has more than 3 bids for a neat and compact view.
5 - Accept or Decline in Bulk
Clear and upfront action buttons to bulk accept or decline bids.
Clear Error Display
In scenarios where several media buyers compete for one available slot, bulk acceptance is not possible. In these cases, I've ensured that users are clearly informed about this limitation. A brief note at the top of the table and a tooltip appearing when hovering over the disabled 'Accept Bids' button will explain it why to the users.

WHAT’S NEXT
What needs to be done
User Testing - Conducting usability testing that involves media owner users interacting with the updated design to identify it’s effectiveness and if there are areas for improvement.
Further Iterations - Based on the results of user testing, future iterations should be planned to enhance the current design. These modifications will be focused on refining the trade desk page further and addressing any feedback received from the media owner users.
